Dr. Douglas Mach joined USRA’s Science and Technology Institute in 2013 and during his tenure with USRA he has worked on a variety of programs. These include Aircraft programs, particularly the Lightning Instrument Package, and Satellite Programs, such the Optical Transient Detector, the Lightening Image Sensor on the ISS, and the Lightning Image Sensor on Third Generation Satellites, among others.

His expertise lies in Atmospheric Electricity (lightning), electronic instrumentation, scientific software, storm electricity, remote sensing, lightning physics operational research and analyses and satellite measurements of lightning and unmanned aerial vehicle measurements.

Prior to joining USRA, Doug was at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama.
