Ed joined USRA in 2014 working at the Arecibo Observatory and in November 2017 joined the LPI staff. Ed holds bachelor’s degrees in physics and mathematics from Alfred University and a Ph.D. in space and planetary sciences from the University of Arkansas. They are active in DEI work as a member of the USRA DEI Committee, the Professional Culture and Climate Subcommittee of the Division of Planetary Sciences, the DEI working group for the NASA Assessment Groups, and the State of the Profession Writing Group of the Decadal Survey. Ed’s research focuses on applications to planetary defense and planetary protection.
