Dr. Vijay Janakiraman is a research scientist at the Data Sciences Group at NASA Ames Research Center and has more than 10 years of R&D experience in machine learning and data mining. Dr. Janakiraman received the Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 2008, 2012, and 2013 respectively. He has published over 25 peer reviewed papers and journal articles. His research interests include deep learning, machine learning, precursor mining, computer vision, aviation performance and safety, remote sensing and explainable AI.
